Sustainability
We are aware of our responsibility towards our employees, our environment and society. We live this in all areas of our company. Our quality products are the core of our company. Besides their long service life, our tools can also be used to repair other products. This makes our tools doubly sustainable.
In our family company, we focus on services for the community and the environment alongside our economic aims, in order to ensure we can do business on a sustainable basis for generations to come. For us, it goes without saying that we assume the function of a role model and integrate the necessary sense of responsibility in terms of protecting and conserving the environment within the company. We therefore place great value on maintaining our standards even when selecting our suppliers and service providers. We also set the standards very high for safety at work as our employees are our most important asset.
We aim to avoid substances that pose a risk to water (e.g. acids, alkalis, oils, cutting fluids, etc.) or to store and use them in such a way that no harm is caused to the environment. Wastewater must only be discharged when it is clean. Emissions from our operations must not cause any harm to the environment or to other people.
For us, corporate environmental stewardship means taking a holistic view of our business processes, analysing them and continuously improving them. In doing so, we take environmental aspects into account in our production and service processes in order to reduce potential environmental impact.
We are committed to complying with regulatory requirements, laws and regulations, and to continuously improving our operational environmental protection measures. Our environmental protection measures are based on the best available and economically viable technology. We regard this as a natural part of our business operations.
Effective environmental protection can only be achieved through the active involvement of all staff. We therefore aim to provide every member of staff with sufficient information and training to enable them to take active responsibility for their day-to-day actions within our company.
We wish to engage in an open and objective dialogue about our company with our business partners, neighbours, public authorities and the interested public, and we are open to suggestions.
We take environmental criteria into account when sourcing our raw materials and consumables. We give preference to suppliers based in Germany, as well as those who prioritise environmental protection, working conditions and the responsible use of resources. We use steel from Germany and prioritise short supply chains. At the same time, over 75 per cent of our production is carried out in-house at our four plants.
We regularly monitor and assess the environmental impact of our business activities. To this end, we carry out internal and external audits and review the extent to which we are achieving our set targets. Based on new findings, we adjust our targets and measures as necessary.
