European Article Number. The EAN code makes it easier to identify an article in all sales documents. The EAN code used by the manufacturer can be converted into internal numbering by the following trade levels.

EAN has 13 digits:

1 to 7 = base number (for HAZET 4000896)

8 bis 12 = article number

13 = check digit
