What are StepLess® and ToothLock® clamps?

StepLess® and ToothLock® are clamps manufactured by Oetiker®. They are used, amongst other things, on axle boots and other joints where uniform compression and a low profile are required.

The Oetiker® StepLess® clamps 168 and 192 distribute the clamping force evenly around the circumference. The ToothLock® clamp 292 achieves high and sustained compression thanks to its locking mechanism.

How are the clamps fitted?

The HAZET clamping jaws 1847-04/2 and the HAZET chuck 1847-23 are designed for the installation of the Oetiker® StepLess® clamps 168 and 192, as well as the ToothLock® clamp 292.

The clamp is closed until it reaches the design-specified locking position. Unlike with certain ear clamps, no tightening torque needs to be set.

On the ToothLock® clamping clamp 292, a locking cam visually indicates when it is closed.
